Eating more fatty fish may help reduce the risk of obesity-related diseases, such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease, according to a new study.
Researchers at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center examined blood samples and the overall health of more than 300 Alaska Yup'ik Eskimos, who regularly consume 20 times more omega-3 fats into their diet than most Americans.

Stress and sleep can play a major role in your weight-loss efforts, according to a new study from the Kaiser Permanente Center for Health Research in Portland, Oregon. The study, published in the International Journal of Obesity, observed 472 adults with body mass indexes between 30 and 50, tracking certain lifestyle measures such as stress levels and nightly sleep quality. Study participants were enrolled in a weight-loss program that included elements such as group counseling, regular exercise, calorie reduction, and a focus on low-fat, low-sodium diets.
