An article published on February 15 in the New York Times reports on the growing interest in teenagers and children receiving bariatric surgery. While there has been some initial studies and teens that have grown into adulthood are now reporting successful weight loss after receiving bariatric surgery, doctors and researchers are still hesitant to fully recommend it for adolescents under 18.
